Thrown Weapons
From the hunting of animals, to warfare and even to camp fire entertainment, man has been throwing weapons of different sorts for many a millennia. The use of such weapons gave man an advantage over the swifter animals, and sometimes his own fellow kind.
Thrown Weapons in the SCA covers the use of the axe, knife and spear (or javelin). The targets we throw axe and knife at are made of wood. Spears and javelins are thrown at haybales or some other soft target material.
