Oscarsdottir : according to Aryanhwy merch Catmael, “to create a patronym the suffix <-dóttir> was added to the genitive form of the father’s name”

Oscar: Found in Withycombe’s O.E.D. of Christian Names, p. 235 states there was an English name “Osgar” and a corresponding Norse “Asgeirr”. “Oscar” was used in MacPherson’s Orsian Poems as the son of the Celtic god Orsian. Appears as “Osgar” … “and had doubtless been carried to Ireland by the Danes.”
