[Amy] -- "Faire Names for English Folk: Late Sixteenth Century English Names," by Chris Laning (http://www.s-gabriel.org/names/christian/fairnames/givennames.html) lists [Amy] in "The top 50 women's names listed by Scott Smith-Bannister for the 1560s and 1570s follow this trend fairly well."

(Esct. Note: Also it is the client's given name as per the contact information on the name form.)

[Goldwin] -- An email from St. Gabriel from Arval: "Nothing like <Goldwen> is possible in Welsh: The element <gold> is English, not Welsh: . . .The best guide we can offer to Welsh women's names in your period is this article: http://www.s-gabriel.org/names/tangwystyl/welshWomen16/ . . . We can probably support <Goldwin> (or sometime very like it) as a 16th century English surname; so one possibility may be a woman of English descent living in Wales with a name like <Elizabeth Goldwin>."

(Esct. Note: Photocopies of the email are included. Also, I am sorry about the quality of the line drawing. It was faded and very hard to scan.)

2) Asuiðr Auarson -- New Device -- Or, two wolf heads erased affronty, in base a drakkar sails furled sable.
(Boyne City, MI)
(Name reg'd Jan '97)

6) Philippa of Otterbourne -- Device Resubmission -- Azure, an otter rampant Or, and on a chief wavy Or, three harps azure
(Name reg'd Sept '03)

Her device: Azure, an otter rampant and on a chief wavy Or, three harps azure was returned by Laurel Dec. '04: "The tincture of the field and the harps is halfway between purpure and azure, and as such cannot be registered. This appears to be the result of color photocopying; it should be noted that the color was beginning to flake off already at stress points."

(Esct. Note: This time she used the correct crayola markers.)

7) Thom off Loch Levin (M)-- New Name
